RANCANGAN PROGRAM KOMUNIKASI MITIGASI GEMPA UNTUK ANAK-ANAK

Abstract

Indonesia is an area prone to disasters, especially earthquakes. When disaster occurs, children being the most victims vulnerable to injury, disease, and lack of nutrition. Therefore, socialization of disaster mitigation for children especially earthquake mitigation is very necessary to reduce the number of victims. Children who are targeted in this program spend most of their time in school. Outside of school, children are exposed to devices, internet, and social media. Literacy program of earthquake mitigation is needed in the form of socialization at schools and in the form of online campaigns such as animated videos on social media. This article aims to provide a recommendation of communication programs plan that may be applied to literate children to survive when earthquake occurs. The research method used is library research. This research, with reference to the Smith’s strategic planning for public relations, resulted a communication strategy for earthquake mitigation education for children in the form of offline games and online campaigns.
